Military Honors for Veterans
The Washington State National Guard is responsible for providing full military honors during funeral services for all honorably discharged veterans. But due to funding and staffing challenges, the National Guard relies on local VFW and American Legion Honor Guard support. The Honor Guard Team consists of members from VFW Post 1040.
