MIA Update: The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency announced the identification of remains of four American servicemen who had been missing in action from World War II and Korea. Being returned for burial with full military honors on a date and location to be announced are:
VFW Open House
The Open House will run from 12:00 PM (noon) to midnight Saturday, April 2, 2016. Membership Tables will be manned from 12:00 PM (noon) to 4:00 PM. The VFW will open at 11:00 AM Saturday. All veterans will be welcome and directed to the appropriate membership table. 2015 marks the 70th Anniversary of the end of WWII. The official signing of the of Surrender document took place aboard the USS Missouri, now anchored at Pearl Harbor. The Northwest Junior Pipe Band participated in honoring US military on November 11th at Veterans Park in Lynnwood, Washington. Representative Rick Larsen and Mayor Nicola Smith were in attendance. Veterans of Foreign War are invited to the Carl Gipson Senior Center to take part in a photo shoot on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 3:30 p.m. Participants must be 50 years or older.
