From 23-26 July, 2015, Marine Corps veteran Bridget Guerrero will run a mile around the Puget Sound for every female servicewoman who has died during the Global War on Terror. The total distance to be covered in 4 days is 160 miles. Bridget is running in support of an organization called The Valor Run (www.valorrun.org), which was started by a Holy Cross college colleague, Captain Nancy Stewart Lacore, USN. Nancy came up with the idea of running a mile for every woman lost while serving in Afghanistan during 2011-12, and completed her “Valor Run” in October, 2014, running from Norfolk, VA to Washington, DC. |
